National Park Visitor Centres
Be well-informed
Experiencing and enjoying nature are at the centre of things for guests and inhabitants of the Harz Mountains region. National park visitor centres offer interactive exhibitions in respect of natural history and cultural topics and give advice as to hiking routes and events.
Brockenhaus
A visit to Northern Germany's highest mountain is not complete without a detour to Brockenhaus. An exciting and barrier-free exhibition on three floors takes you on a trip through the history and wildlife of this fascinating mountain.
You can also visit Hexenflug cafe, the dome with its imposing listening devices from the communist era, and the observation deck with panoramic views.

TorfHaus National Park Visitor Centre
Next to the large car park and Torfhaus bus stop you will find TorfHaus National Park Visitor Centre. A barrier-free exhibition takes you through the Green Belt in the legendary mountain wilderness of Harz National Park.
In the National Park cinema, you can follow Goethe and Heine on a hike up to the Brocken, or encounter lynx and red deer amid the Harz forests. Children are guided through the exhibition by "Boris the Bark Beetle" or they can keep themselves occupied in the research corner. Upstairs in the visitor centre you can learn something about the development of the bogs.

HohneHof Nature Discovery Centre
Just 1 km from the car park and Drei Annen Hohne train station, HohneHof acts as the start or finish of hikes, family outings, mountain bike trips or short walks. On the nearby Dandelion Discovery Trail and at the barrier-free house you can find numerous large and small suggestions for experiencing, discovering and enjoying nature.
Visit our researchers corner and cafe, explore the fragrance and touch garden, or enjoy the adventure playground with your children. Our Rangers will tell you about participatory activities, events or experience highlights around HohneHof.

Sankt Andreasberg National Park Visitor Centre
Sankt Andreasberg National Park Visitor Centre has fascinating information on the geology of the National Park as well as the consequences of mining for today's forest wilderness. The interactive and barrier-free exhibition, temporary special exhibitions and the experience cinema show the history of the Harz and the return of wilderness. The new attraction is the "FledermausReich" - a special exhibition on bats.
The cafe serves light refreshments. Especially for the younger guests there is a children's island, a journey of discovery with Mole and Owl, or our house rally. On request, our staff are happy to accompany you on a tour of the exhibition or an exciting excursion through the forest wilderness.
